This week has been really boring! Tuesday was new missionary training, and that went from 8:45am to 3:00pm. It was a very long day, but that's what you get for being a trainer. (i.e. sitting in a meeting that's not really for you.) We were so happy to get out again! Is that the only meeting? Haha nope! The next day we had Zone Conference so everybody was there. That went from 9:00am to 4:00pm. I never thought that sitting in a meeting all day is more tiring than proselyting all day. Who knew?! But that's not all...that same day in the evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm we have a standing appointment with the Wilford Stake Ward Mission Leader. So literally we were in meetings all day! We got a break on Thursday but then Friday was District Meeting. But they changed it a little bit, all the Senior Companions and Trainers had to stay to have a special meeting for our Zone and all the Jr. Companions and Trainees went out and did splits. Talk about feeling odd when sitting in a meeting with a bunch of experienced missionaries who have been out for a while. Then even more odd when the Zone Leader likes to hear my opinion and kept asking me what I thought, even though I've been out for a transfer and a half!
For lunch our Senior Couple took us out to lunch, to a place called Cafe Rio. It's like a Utah version of Chipotle. People freak out over it here because " it's really good Mexican food" I was not impressed at all. I keep telling missionaries and some members we are good friends with that I come from the source of Mexican food where it's really MEXICAN FOOD, and that I'm hard to impress here by a bunch of Utah Mormons.
The past couple days Mike has been struggling, he is still smoking and is now drinking coffee again because how much he's working again. We had to keep pushing his date back and then the District Leader told us we just need to take him off date again until he's actually ready which is sad. This week we had a bunch of appointments canceled on us. So between meetings and appointments cancelled, our numbers looked bad. We explored our new Stake on bikes the other day and it's weird how it can go from really nice neighborhoods to it looks ghetto. We cover a LARGE area! When we tell people how much we cover they are shocked, even fellow missionaries. I have tried talking to some people to get a car because it's way to much for bikes. But they won't give us a car. Today is Halloween and we won't be doing any proselyting because P-Day ends at 5:00pm and then we have orders to be at the Mission Office tonight to watch a movie and stuff because things can get sketchy out here for missionaries. So at least we get to relax all day right? Anyway that's all that's really happened this week. I'll be sending pics on my iPad. BTW I'm going to buy a little key board for my iPad. (I had asked him about winter clothes and requests for a November package and he answered with this) A member bought me a couple of coats and some thermals! I'm just looking forward to the MP3 player. I can't think of anything right now, but when you send your packages, surprisingly I am saying this for once but instead of sending a bunch of candy send real food, we get sent home with a bunch of junk food and are fed a bunch of junk food. We have to watch our weight.
